Diseases That Cause Weight Gain
Eye Diseases That Can Cause Blindness
There is a wide range of diseases and conditions that can affect our eyes, causing visual impairment and often blindness. The leading causes of blindness are:
- Cone-rod dystrophy - Cone-Rod Dystrophy (CRD) is an inherited progressive disease that causes deterioration of the cone and rod photoreceptor cells and often results in blindness.
- Diabetic retinopathy - Diabetic retinopathy is a common diabetic eye disease caused by changes in retinal blood vessels.
- Glaucoma - Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions in which the optic nerve is damaged due to changes in eye pressure. Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness.
- Stargardt's disease - Stargardt disease, or fundus flavimaculatus is form of macular dystrophy that begins early in life. It is an inherited juvenile macular degeneration that causes progressive vision loss usually to the point of legal blindness.

Asbestos Related Diseases, Sickness, Illness
Asbestosis - This is scarring of the lungs: the airways become so inflamed and scarred that oxygen is no longer able to pass from the lungs into the blood. The lungs become stiff and inelastic, making breathing progressively difficult.
Mesothelioma - Mesothelioma, more precisely malignant mesothelioma, is a rare form of cancer that develops from the protective lining that covers many of the body's internal organs, the mesothelium. It is usually caused by exposure to asbestos.
Asbestos-related lung cancer - Asbestos related lung cancer occurs in several forms including bronchial carcinoma and adenocarcinoma. Not every asbestos-related lung cancer is a mesothelioma, which are tumors specifically of the lining surrounding the lungs, heart, or abdomen.
Pleural disease - Pleural plaque/thickening involves scarring of the lining of the lung indicating that an individual has had lung damage sufficient to be at risk for more serious complications.

List of Deadly Diseases
AIDS/HIV - AIDS (Acquired immune deficiency syndrome or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) is a chronic, potentially life-threatening condition caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). As HIV progressively damages immune system cells, the body becomes more vulnerable to infections, which it will have difficulty in fighting off.
Asthma - Asthma is a chronic (long-term) lung disease that causes the airways of the lungs to swell and narrow, leading to wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing.
Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease - Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) is a rare, degenerative brain disorder that is caused by abnormal brain proteins called prions.
Diabetes Type 2 - Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes and occurs mainly in people aged over 40. With Type 2 diabetes, the more common type, your body does not make or use insulin well.
Ebola - Ebola virus (EBOV) causes severe disease in humans and in nonhuman primates in the form of viral hemorrhagic fever. The Ebola virus belongs to the Filoviridae family (filovirus) and is comprised of five distinct species: Zaïre, Sudan, Côte d’Ivoire, Bundibugyo and Reston.
Hemorrhagic fevers - Viral hemorrhagic fevers (VHFs) refer to a group of illnesses that are caused by several distinct families of viruses.
Influenza - Influenza (commonly referred to as the flu), one of the most common infectious diseases, that affects mainly the nose, throat, bronchi and, occasionally, lungs.
Lung Cancer - Lung cancer is a disease in which the cells of lung tissues grow uncontrollably and form tumors.
Polio (Poliomyelitis) - Poliomyelitis is a contagious, historically devastating disease that can affect nerves and can lead to partial or full paralysis.
Rabies - Rabies is a deadly viral infection that is mainly spread by infected animals.
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus - Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a long-term autoimmune disorder that may affect the skin, joints, kidneys, brain, and other organs.
Asthma - Asthma is a chronic (long-term) lung disease that causes the airways of the lungs to swell and narrow, leading to wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing.

List of Lung Diseases
Lung disease is any disease or disorder that occurs in the lungs or that causes the lungs to not work properly.
Acute Bronchitis - Acute bronchitis describes the inflammation of the bronchi usually caused by a viral infection. Acute bronchitis may be contagious if it's caused by a viral infection.
Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) - ARDS is a severe lung syndrome caused by a variety of direct and indirect issues. It is a life-threatening lung condition that prevents enough oxygen from getting to the lungs and into the blood.
Asbestosis - Asbestosis is a disease that involves a scarring of lung tissue as a result of breathing in asbestos fibers. Asbestos is a natural mineral product that's resistant to heat and corrosion.
Asthma - Asthma is a chronic (long-term) lung disease that causes the airways of the lungs to swell and narrow, leading to wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing.
Bronchiectasis - Bronchiectasis is an abnormal widening of one or more airways. If the condition is present at birth, it is called congenital bronchiectasis. If it develops later in life, it is called acquired bronchiectasis.
Bronchiolitis - Bronchiolitis is swelling and mucus buildup in the smallest air passages in the lungs (bronchioles), usually due to a viral infection.
Bronchiolitis Obliterans Organizing Pneumonia (BOOP) - BOOP is a swelling of the small airways in the lung. The swelling causes blockages in the outermost parts of the lung.

Saving your Teeth with Root Canal Treatment
Root canal
treatment (RCT) – It is a process to save a rotting, painful or sensitive
tooth.
Need OF RCT: - A number of
indications of the need for root
canal treatment may be
1. Feel pain in a sequence of regular beats
2. Sensitivity to hot, cold, sweet and sour foods
3. Infection in the teeth bone
4. Impulsive pain
Root Canal
Treatment
To remove
infected nerve tissue that lies between the root of the tooth. If you do not
remove it, your teeth get infected and you would lose it. The dentist removes
the pulp and cleaned the root canal and sealed off to protect it.
The first step
in a root canal is to obtain access to the nerve. This is accomplished by
establishing a small access opening in the top of the tooth. It will be done
under a local anesthetic.
The length of the root canal is determined and the infected pulp is removed. At
the same visit, the canal where the nerve is located will be reshaped and
prepared to accept a special root canal filling material. The number of visits
necessary to complete your root canal will depend upon several factors
including the number of nerves in the tooth, the infected state of the nerve,
and the complexity of the procedure.
The final step in your root canal will be the sealing of the root canal with a
sterile, plastic material called gutted percha. This is done in order to
prevent possible future infection.
If
treated early, root canal therapy need not be uncomfortable. With the use of
local anesthetics, the entire procedure can be totally painless.
First Your teeth are opened, and then your root canal is cleaned and shaped.
First, your
dentist makes an opening in your tooth and removes any fillings and decay. Then
your dentist removes unhealthy pulp with tiny, flexible, files. Using delicate,
up-and-down motions, your dentist gently cleans and smoothens your canals to
prepare them for the canal-filling materials.
Your root canal
is filled with dental materials such as gutta-percha and may be covered with a
temporary filling.
Filling your
root canals
After the pulp
has been removed from your root canals and they have been smoothened, your root
canals will be filled. Your dentist may fill the canals with tiny cone-shaped
pieces of gutta-percha, a firm, rubber like material, or use another dental
material. Sealer cement is used to seal the filling material into vacant place.
Restoring your
Tooth
Your tooth has been treated fist. After
the treatment of inside teeh, the outside will be restored. To protect your teeth
underlying structures and gives your tooth a healthy appearance, and if your
tooth needs extra support, your dentist may remove some gutta-percha and insert
a post before the filling and crown is applied.
Stainless steel
or other metal is cemented into your root canal to construct up your tooth
after RCT.
During the
filling, typically silver or a tooth-colored dental substance may be used to
fill the opening in the top of your tooth. A crown, generally gold or porcelain
may be used to cover a tooth that has a large opening after root canal treatment.

Jaundice: Causes, Symptoms, Treatment & Precaution
Find everything you need to know about Jaundice, including causes, symptoms, treatment and precaution.
Overview
The term jaundice means yellowing. It describes yellow discoloration of the skin. It is also visible especially in the white part of the eye called “sclera” and to some degree on mucus membranes. This is a symptom more than a disease. Jaundice occurs when there is increase in the pigment called “bilirubin” in the blood. Bilirubin is generally a by-product of red blood corpuscles. So there is yellow discoloration of the skin. It is first noticeable in the sclera of the eye. Another feature that comes with this condition that is very common is “itching”.
Causes
Normally about 1 % of our RBC is replaced by fresh red blood corpuscles. The old ones are processed in the liver and get rid of. The breakdown of the old RBC is released through the stool and faeces but if there are too many RBC to be handled then yellow pigment builds up in the body, then it becomes visible and this results in yellowing of the eyes, skin ,urine and mucus .There are many other causes in children and adult and may include things like blood incompatibility, certain blood diseases and genetic disorders, infections such as Hepatitis, Cirrhosis of the liver, blockage of the bile duct and other liver disorders. This disease occurs due to infected water. It can happen also due to birth defects and a number of other medical conditions.
Symptoms
As we have seen earlier the first symptom of jaundice is yellowing of the white of the eyes. Patient can have yellow colour inside the mouth, dark or brown- coloured urine, pale or clay coloured stools. When jaundice is more severe, these areas may look brown. Apart from other symptoms it includes nausea, abdominal pain especially in the right side of the stomach, vomiting, loose motion, weight loss, loss of appetite and weakness.
Severe condition of jaundice can change the white clothes into yellowish especially the colour of thigh turns more yellow than any other part of the body.
NOTE: - If the whites of your eyes are not yellow, you may not have jaundice. Your skin can turn a yellow to orange colour if you eat too much beta carotene, the orange pigment in carrot.
Treatment
Different laboratory tests are done to find the causes of jaundice and study the level of Bilirubin. The Jaundice usually disappears as the condition of the liver improves. As we know that Jaundice takes place due to breakdown of RBC, Vitamin E helps to lower the level of bilirubin. Juice made from radish can also be taken. The patient should take sugarcane juice. Unripe papaya is also very helpful to reduce jaundice. Glucose water is also helpful. The patient should take enough rest during this condition.
Precaution

Swine Flu: Causes, Symptoms, Treatment, Prevention
Introduction
One of the worst natural disasters in recorded history swine flu, also known as pig influenza occurs when a virus that lives normally in pigs somehow mutates and changes and becomes available to humans.it is endemic in nature and is common throughout the pig population worldwide. People with regular exposure to pig in any form are at increased risk of infection.
This disease is allegedly triggered by swine flu virus, which is endemic in pigs and through pigs, it jumps to human once the virus gets into the human cells, if they replicate themselves, strict our bodies and explode causing a critical syndrome that we see.
Cause
Caused by influenza family of virus influenza C and subtype of influenza A known as H1N1, H2N2 are responsible for it.
History
There has been outbreak of swine flu. In 1918 (during first world war) and in 1976 resulting in 0.5 million deaths in USA .This disease is earlier identified in April 2009 in Mexico. And causes of this disease about 20 million deaths worldwide. During those time it had struck every major city all over the world .it was probably the worst pandemic the world ever witnessed. Recently in 2008-2009 it broke out in Asian country like Philippines and it prove to be menace.in India some of the cases were reported to be caused by H1N1 virus, which is an unusual mix of genetic sequences.
Symptoms
The symptoms are similar as that of influenza like chills, fever, lethargic, loss of appetite, coughing, running nose, sore throat, vomiting. It can also cause numbness in some part of body.
Treatment
From the time of onset of symptoms to the time when a patient receives, treatment is very critical and could be determined the condition. Ideally a patient should get proper treatment within 48 hours of diagnosis.in some cause people without symptoms could be too feeble to walk. The real danger comes when it start to spread by human to human transmission.
Prevention
Don’t get chilled, keep warm, keep in good healthy and hygienic condition .don’t get tired out, avoid gathering and crowds because such places the chances of transmission of virus is maximum.
There are vaccination programs all over the world for fighting against the disease and government of U.S.A and India and all over countries have made it easily available and accessible to it whole population. The vaccines are easy to take and give a surety that you will remain protected. These should be vaccination program at a large scale to prevent a national and international outbreak of the disease. Always wear face mask, don’t leave your nose exposed.
Public Issue
Swine flu is pretty serious issue. It panics whole nation and creates widespread confusion. Such is the fear of endemic that people fear to live their natural day to day lives .government should have good rescue plans for coping the adverse situation. panick creates a social disorder and life comes to a standstill.
Current Status
On 10 August 2010, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared that the H1N1 influenza pandemic was officially over.

Asthma Symptoms, Cause, Types
Asthma
Asthma is the common chronic inflammatory disorder. It is carry by air variable. It is a disease that causes by the airof the lungs to swell and narrow, leading to wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing.
Introduction
The airways are tubes that carry air into and out of your lungs. People who have asthma have inflamed airways. Thismakes the airways swollen and very sensitive. They tend to react strongly to
certain inhaled substances.
When the airways react, the muscles around them tighten. This narrows the airways, causing less air to flow into the lungs. The swelling also can worsen, making
the airways even narrower. Cells in the airways may make more mucus than normal. Mucus is a sticky, thick liquid that can further narrow your airways.
This chain reaction can result in asthma symptoms. Symptoms can happen each time the airways are inflamed.
Signs and symptoms
1. Animals (pet hair)
2. Dust
3.Changes in weather (most often cold weather)
4.Chemicals in the air or in food
5.Exercise
6.Mold
7.Pollen
8.Respiratory infections, such as the common cold
9.Strong emotions (stress)
10.Tobacco smoke
Common symptoms of asthma include wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness and coughing, and use of accessory muscle. Symptoms are often worse at night or in the early morning, or in response to exercise or cold air.
Causes of Asthma
In short, asthma affects people of all ages, but it most often starts during childhood. In the United States, more than 22 million people are known to have asthma. Nearly 6 million of these people are children.
